Damage & Misdescription Returns Accepted Contact Within 5 Days Last Updated: 2025
Policy Summary
Returns are accepted only if the item arrives damaged or materially not as described. All other sales are final. This policy exists because the parts we carry are rare reproductions with very limited quantities — please read the full policy below.

Overview

At Bimmer Bits, we specialize in rare, discontinued BMW E36 components that are no longer available through any dealership or standard aftermarket source. Because our inventory is extremely limited — and in some cases represents the only known supply of a given part — all sales are final with two narrow exceptions: the item arrives physically damaged, or the item is materially different from what was described on the product listing.

We stand fully behind the accuracy of our product descriptions and the quality of our packaging. If we make a mistake, or if the carrier damages your order, we will make it right.

Eligible Returns

A return will be accepted in the following two situations:

Item Arrived Damaged
The part was damaged during transit — cracked, broken, bent, or otherwise physically harmed by the shipping process. Photo documentation is required. Contact us within 5 days of delivery.
Item Not As Described
The part you received is materially different from what was described in the product listing — wrong fitment, wrong part number, wrong material, or a significant quality deficiency not disclosed in the listing. Contact us within 5 days of delivery.

In both cases, we will review your claim and work to resolve it as quickly as possible. Resolution may take the form of a replacement (if available) or a full refund.

Not Eligible for Return

The following situations are not eligible for return or refund:

Change of Mind
You no longer want the part, found a different solution, or changed direction on your build. All sales are final once the order is placed.
Fitment Errors by Buyer
You ordered the wrong part for your vehicle. Confirmed fitment details are listed on every product page. If you were unsure, we always recommend contacting us before ordering.
Installed or Modified Parts
Parts that have been installed, trimmed, modified, glued, painted, or otherwise altered from their received condition cannot be returned under any circumstances.
Claims Filed After 5 Days
Return or damage claims must be submitted within 5 calendar days of the confirmed delivery date. Claims submitted after this window will not be accepted.
Missing Original Packaging
Returns require the original packaging to be intact, as it may be needed for carrier insurance claims in the event of transit damage.

Return Process

If your return falls under one of the eligible categories above, here is how to proceed:

Document Everything
Before doing anything else, photograph the outer packaging, any visible damage to the box, and the condition of the part itself. Do not discard any packaging materials.

Contact Us Within 5 Days
Email [email protected] or use the contact form. Include your order number, a description of the issue, and your photos.

We Review Your Claim
We'll review your submission within 1–2 business days and confirm whether your return is approved. We may request additional photos or information.

Return Authorization
If approved, we'll send a Return Authorization and prepaid return label. Do not ship anything back without written authorization — unauthorized returns will not be accepted.

Refund or Replacement
Once we receive and inspect the returned part, we'll either send a replacement (if available) or issue a full refund to your original payment method within 5 business days.

Refunds

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method used at checkout. Refunds are processed within 5 business days of us receiving and inspecting the returned part.

Depending on your card issuer or payment processor, the refund may take an additional 3–10 business days to appear on your statement.

Shipping Costs
For approved damage or misdescription returns, we cover all return shipping costs via a prepaid label. Original shipping charges (if any were paid) are refunded in full along with the product price.

Exchanges

We do not offer direct exchanges. Because our parts are rare and inventory is limited, we cannot guarantee availability of a replacement part at the time a return is processed.

If a replacement part is available, we will offer it. If not, a full refund will be issued. If you want a different part than the one you originally ordered, please place a new order and contact us — we will do our best to assist.

Why Final Sale?

We understand that a strict no-return policy can feel frustrating if you're used to easy returns from general retailers. Here's the honest context behind our policy.

Every part we carry has been discontinued by BMW for a decade or more. There are no new units coming from the factory. When we sell a part and it comes back unused, it re-enters limited inventory — but the cost and logistics of managing small-quantity rare parts is disproportionate to the price of the item.

More importantly: we want buyers to be confident before they purchase. Every product listing includes detailed fitment information by year and body style. If you are not certain a part fits your vehicle, we strongly encourage you to contact us before ordering. We will verify compatibility on your behalf.
